JackPetchey Foundation
We are thrilled to have entered into a partnership with the Jack Petchey Foundation. The partnership is a fantastic way to encourage all the young people we have contact with to think about what they can ‘give back’. Giving makes us better people and often you find you get more out of it yourself than you have given!” The Foundation's commitment will ensure that AFC Lewisham programme will be delivered to our members and help more young people to use their time and talents to improve their local community.
Due to the size of our club, AFC Lewisham has been placed on the Bronze Scheme, which means we can make three awards each year, involving players and coaches. Nomination forms will be available to collect from the club secretary Josephine or can be downloaded from the link on this page. Nomination forms need to be placed in the nomination box at training by the 28 February 2017. Anyone can nominate a AFC Lewisham player who has achieved something special. This could be for excellence in a performance or a personal challenge – in fact anything which is a ‘personal best’ for that player. Nomination forms will be collected from the box at the end of the month and two coaches from the club will read the nominations and select a winner. The chosen player will be able to decide how to ‘spend’ £250! Ideas for spending the money are available from the club secretary.
The winner must choose something which benefits 11-25 year olds and not something which only benefits one or a few individuals.
Winners will be awarded a Jack Petchey certificate, pin badge and presentation cheque here at AFC Lewisham but every year the winners will be invited to attend a prestigious, regional Medallion Presentation Evening. These are special events where the winners, their families and friends can really celebrate and be proud of their achievements.
